Guide
This page explains how you can contribute to this archive about the Narin Güran case. The site is maintained as a volunteer effort; every piece of feedback helps us fill in gaps and extend the archive.
The site’s source code and all its content are openly published in its GitHub repository. All of the contribution paths below require a free GitHub account; the next section explains how to create one.

Once you have an account, clicking any of the links on this page will prompt GitHub to sign you in.
2. Issues — requests and reports
The Issues page is where concrete requests and error reports are made.
When to open an issue
- A new photo to be added — you want a new photograph to be included in one of the Gallery → Images categories (Güran Family, Justice Vigil, Press & Interviews, etc.).
- A new blog article to be added — you know of an article, column or interview that you think should be added to the Blog section.
- A new video to be added — you want a new video to be added to one of the Gallery → Videos categories.
- An error report — you have spotted a broken link, incorrect information, a rendering issue or a typo on a page.
- Missing information — you believe a piece of information or a document should be added.
How to open one
- Open the Issues page.
- Click the green “New issue” button in the top right.
- Give it a short, descriptive Title. For example:
- “Request: new photo for the Güran Family category”
- “Please add Faruk Bildirici’s column dated 12 April”
- “Broken link on the home page”
- In the Description, write what you want as clearly and in as much detail as possible:
- For a photo: the source URL (Twitter/X, newspaper, agency), the date, who is in it, where it was taken, any additional context.
- For an article: the title, author, where and when it was published, the online link.
- For a video: the YouTube URL, the channel, the publication date, which category it would fit.
- For an error: the URL of the affected page, what you expected, what you saw.
- Click “Submit new issue”.
Anyone can comment on the issue you open; we reply under the issue to update its status when an item is added or a decision is made.
3. Discussions — ideas and exchange
The Discussions page is for open-ended conversations. If you do not have a concrete request or error report but want to share a thought, ask a question, or comment on something, this is the right place.
When to open a discussion
- You want to debate an item of information or a comment on the site.
- You want to share your opinion on any aspect of the case.
- You want to ask a question and see what the community has to say.
- You have a suggestion for how the site could develop that has not yet crystallised into a concrete request.
How to open one

- Click the “New discussion” button in the top right.
- Choose an appropriate category (for example General, Q&A, Ideas).
- Write your title and content.
